Problem w/ Remote web workplace - remote desktop active X control
With the release of IE7, ActiveX is now optin. That means that by default, for the first time in the history of ActiveX/IE, ActiveX is disabled. I will leave it to the interested reader to determine which of the above groups of Windows users is qualified to know how and when to enable it.

I am running IE7 on Windows VISTA Beta2. I have seen all the articles and other postings here and followed the instructions on lowering my ActiveX security settings. I cannot run the activeX control no matter what security setting changes i make. As a matter of fact, the WGA diagnostic site wont work either.

The
fact that it's in their ActiveX version and not other versions is beside the point. This type of flaw could be in any version, because plug-ins, whether they're activex or "netscape" style are still native code that is not sandboxed, unless of course it's run in IE7 on Vista. Eric is smarter than Adobe!

Even offering Internet Explorer 7 as a standard upgrade for Windows XP, and as the default browser on Vista, has done little to slow its inexorable decline. The bigger issue is all the content copy protection gorp that clutters up Vista, and will likely clutter up OS X in the near future if they support Blu-Ray
